Redrawing India’s cinematic future
As the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) came to a close in Goa, there was a sense that something larger than the event itself had just taken place.
The event was presided over by Smita Vats Sharma, Director General, PIB, along with Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Vice Chancellor, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC).

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) observed the Constitution Day at the ongoing 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Panaji, Goa.
The event was presided over by Smita Vats Sharma, Director General, PIB, along with Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Vice Chancellor, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC).

As part of the ceremony, officials collectively recited the Preamble to the Constitution of India, affirming their commitment to uphold its values. The ceremony began with the words: “WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens…”

The observance highlighted the spirit of constitutional responsibility, civic duty, and national unity among media and communication professionals present at the festival.
The ceremony concluded with all participants chanting the patriotic slogan “Jai Hind,” echoing the nation’s enduring respect for the Constitution and its guiding principles.
